This would mean complete deliverance and an uprooting and re-grafting into the responsible side of the society.
Children are an important leverage point to break the cycle of prostitution in families. Many of these children become dropouts or addicts or anti-social or a liability to society. Therefore, focused intervention sometimes involving intensive counselling and personal care is needed for these children. At present, there are about 15 children under intensive monitoring.
10 children from rehabilitated families and a few other children in need of care and protection from vulnerable backgrounds are being provided monetary educational assistance.
RAPHA U has developed a model and a tool for after care counselling interventions. ‘After care counselling’ for trafficked victims who have been released from brothels and have come out from vigilance homes is an important phase in the process to rehabilitation and recovery. RAPHA U also offers its psychiatric and counselling services at the Madras Christian Council of Social Service (MCCSS) – Anti trafficking home for victims.
