Introduction
RAPHA U – Unlimited Healing through counselling. RAPHA U’s commitment is to build broken and destroyed individuals and families through counselling. Our goal is not just to focus on processes but to see through the problem issues, down to the roots and build from the foundation upwards. Problems arise when the foundations are weak. It may be said that we strive to lay a good foundation in building people and families. In this regard, RAPHA U, focuses on a foundation of purity and wholeness.
About Us
“RAPHA U” as an organization was registered on 12th March 2010. The intention was to consolidate the experience of years of intervention among trafficked victims and psychologically affected patients. There was an urgent need to address moral vulnerability of individuals, marriages and families which was leading to break downs and a stronger need to improve and strengthen existing good moral beliefs and frameworks. In this context, RAPHA U emerged with a unique model of counselling to cater to this specific vulnerability.
Added to this was ground level intervention among Commercial Sex workers and their children who are on the frontline of vulnerability in being forced. Currently, another major aspect of intervention that has acquired new thrust and efforts was to manage and run a Children’s Home in need of care and protection that would provide educational, social and comprehensive support to destitute and extremely vulnerable children. The purpose of the Home was to see them through until they grow into adulthood and reach a point of building a life for themselves.
The four Verticals that Rapha Unlimited serves through are:
a) Vertical 1: Commercial Sex Workers intervention
b) Vertical 2: Counselling Services
c) Vertical3: Counselling services in Educational institutions
d) Vertical 4: Adonai Childrens Home
Rapha U Believes That
- There is prosperity in purity (i.e) moral excellence
- When the soul {mind, (mental,) emotions(emotional) will(volitional)} prospers, in being pure on the inside {conscience, sexuality, superego}, then the outside prospers… (i.e) relationships, productivity, ability etc.
- There is an ultimate healing possible through counselling! which is contrary to coping! Do not settle for less!
- Children who are vulnerable can grow into wholeness if nurtured and built up in a value system that strengthens and builds the inner man.
- Everyone wants a better life – if not – the best in life and we can make it happen through rejuvenation of the mind, body and spirit.
What are our strengths and skills?
The RAPHA U team consists of individuals who are specifically qualified and trained for each of the four Verticals. Three of the Verticals are managed by a team consisting of a Psychiatrist, Social Workers, Counsellors and an Occupational Therapist. The team has considerable experience in the field of counselling and community interventions. The Adonai Children’s Home is managed by a full-fledged team headed by a couple with extensive exposure and training in this field – both Engineers and with one of them being a master’s in social work. They are assisted by Social workers, Housekeepers, a Cook and associate staff to run such a home. They are assisted by the Psychiatrist and Counsellors who manage the first three verticals.
