Our Vision

‘Unlimited healing through counseling’

The second vertical that is functioning in Rapha Unlimited is to bring healing through counselling by establishing counselling services at various places for psychologically affected individuals and families. Counselling assistance is being provided in Hospital based counselling centers and community centers. Currently, there are three functioning centers. The first is the Rapha Counselling center working from the office at Mogappair Eri Scheme where consultations are offered for psychologically affected individuals and therapies for family counselling. The second is the liaison psychiatry and counselling services provided at the CSI Rainy Hospital and the - third the same services - at CSI Kalyani Hospital. In the latter two, we work in liaison with General Medicine, Gynecology, and other specialties.

The common issues dealt with in counselling are marital conflicts, sexuality related issues, paraphilias, interpersonal conflicts, various types of addictions, depression and mood disorders, personality issues, etc. Rapha U has developed a counselling theory and a model for the resolution and healing of disorders leading to purity and wholeness in manhood and womanhood. In this context, personal and interpersonal dynamics beginning from the heart of manhood and womanhood are explored and resolved. In all the centers, strict confidentiality is maintained, and no disclosure will be made to inquisitive family members or friends. During the pandemic, our counselling services have continued virtually so as to ensure the safety and uninhibited treatment of our clients.

Individual Counselling

People who suffer the consequences of personal issues (whether offenders or victims), paraphilias, pornography addiction, relationship problems and so on are counseled with a specific model developed by RAPHA U. The counselee is taken through steps of renunciation and facilitated through the steps toward healing and purity in sexuality. RAPHA U motto is ‘prosperity in purity’ and this is indicative of the processes and outcomes.

Psychological screening tests are done to identify psychological illness and the need for medical intervention. If psychiatric assistance is required, the consultation services are provided by the consultant psychiatrist.

Marriage Counselling

In marriage counselling and therapy, the first session takes place to hear from both parties to identify the problem issues at the root level. Individual sessions are usually planned as the next step. The sessions may be extended according to the need. After the individual sessions are over, couple counselling is done. The marriage counselling theory is based on the foundation of moral values in marriage as opposed to expectations in marriage.

During counselling, if the patient is found to have insomnia, mood swings, sexual preoccupation and/or similar symptoms which act as barriers to effective counselling, they are first treated with the appropriate medication.

Child Counselling Services

Child counseling is a therapy that focuses on young children, teens, and adolescents with one or more mental illnesses. It also provides aid to youths, who have experienced trauma, and/or who are experiencing a dysfunctional or stressful home environment. Many of the issues these children face mimic the issues adults face in their day-to-day lives. Some of these common issues include anxiety, depression, and grief. The goal of child counseling, however, is to break down problems into manageable parts, so children can better understand and cope with them.
